Helping young people attain greater levels of education is one of the best ways the Church can impact the overall welfare of Greater Charlotte.

Education is a critical factor for upward mobility. Over 60% of Greater Charlotte residents over age 25 have not attained a bachelor’s degree. There is a strong relationship between educational attainment and various positive outcomes for individuals. On average, individuals with higher levels of education tend to earn more than those with lower levels of education. Additionally, these individuals tend to enjoy greater job stability as well. Studies have also shown a link between better health and an improved quality of life in factors ranging from lower rates of chronic conditions, substance abuse, and crime rates. There is also an increase in civic engagement and volunteering.
